Happy Birthday DAD!
Tomorrow is my dad's birthday! Because of our geographical distance we don't often get to celebrate our birthdays together. We are sure to acknowledge one anothers special day though . The picture here is from our last gathering as a family on Cape Cod in 2007. Emily and my dad have a special bond. They seem to just enjoy being together...not a lot words necessary.
It seems that this is the year, I am getting to explore my interest in photography. Last year, I invested in a really nice camera. For my birthday this year, I received a cool telephoto lens from my dad, and the opportunity for a photography class from John. I recently discovered a brand new book called AMERICA AT HOME : A Close-up Look at How We Live. It is a coffee table book filled with real life pictures of how we live in America. What makes this book fun is that you are able to create a cover from your own photography collection. Take a peek at www.MyAmericaAtHome.com . In celebration of my dad's birthday, I am sending him the book along with a personalized cover. I chose the picture you see here. I hope he won't be disappointed that I cropped out the man in the distance. The irony of the chosen cover is that neither my dad or my daughter are in their home. Both are on vacation, far away from home. Emily and I very rarely see my dad in his day to day home. Our experiences with him are usually in this place on the Cape, a place he loves to be with his family. Happy Birthday DAD!
